Solar Plate Printmaking
This workshop is complex and is recommended for experienced participants. It will demonstrate how to establish images onto metal plates by means of exposure to UV light.
It is a safe and non-toxic process enabling the use of photographic and drawn images and also relief prints using found objects like leaves and feathers.
Participants will make their own plates and learn how to ink and print them onto high-quality cotton rag paper. This workshop will be conducted in Sheila’s studio and can therefore only accommodate one or two students at a time
