A.M.A. Theatre Co. is seeking two talented and enthusiastic female-identifying actors for our 2025/2026 Christmas pantomime, Dick Whittington. We are looking for performers with exceptional energy, strong comedic timing, and a passion for creating festive magic for our audiences.

We are currently casting for:
ALICE FITZWARREN / PURDY THE CAT
We are casting for one performer to play both of these fantastic parts. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of strong vocal and acting skills combined with an outstanding capacity for physical storytelling.
• Gender: Female-identifying
• Playing Age: Open

Character Descriptions:
• As ALICE FITZWARREN: Alice is the smart, kind-hearted, and spirited daughter of Alderman Fitzwarren. Far from a damsel in distress, Alice is adventurous, optimistic, and instantly sees the good in Dick. She must be a charismatic and likeable performer who can win the hearts of the audience.
• As PURDY THE CAT: Dick’s loyal, clever, and acrobatic feline friend. This is a role that relies on expressive movement and characterisation to tell the story. Purdy is the unsung hero of the show – brave, mischievous, and adored by the audience.

Required Skills for this Dual Role:
• A confident singer with a strong pop/musical theatre voice (belt/mix).
• Strong acting skills with good comedic timing.
• The ability to create fully-realised characters, switching between the dialogue-driven Alice and the physical Purdy.
• Must be comfortable with audience interaction and participation.
• Must be physically fit with high stamina and able to work comfortably in a full character costume for the role of Purdy.
