The School of Art, Media and Design at South Devon College runs an exciting range of foundation degree courses for creative, imaginative individuals.

FdA Visual Studies
Visual Studies is for imaginative, creative people wishing to develop an experimental approach to visual communication. Workshops include, illustration, animation, printmaking, digital manipulation, photography, and fine art practices.

Drawing is a central component of the course and critical to the development of ideas.

Students will explore image and narrative in a creative and energetic working environment responding to the increasingly cross-disciplinary nature of current practice.

The course prepares students for progression into industry or further study at undergraduate level.

FdA Three Dimensional Design
This exciting course prepares students for work within the three dimensional design fields.
Students have the opportunity to specialise in one of the following areas:

Interior and Spatial Design
(Retail, commercial and domestic; exhibition and events; architectural modelling)

Contemporary Crafts
(Jewellery & silversmithing; ceramics; textiles; fashion accessories; wood; mixed media and design craft practice)

3D Design
(Furniture design; product based design; plastics and designer maker practice)
