Lucy Kemp Welch Students Exhibition

We are putting together a very interesting Exhibition of the work of the students of the Lucy Kemp Welch School of Painting. She took over the Herkomer School of Art in 1905 and ran it until 1926. We have a varied collection of works by her students in our Exhibition. The names of the Artists may not be well known today but their work is definitely worth seeing. In her teaching she carried on the philosophy of Hubert Von Herkomer that Artists should paint from their own observations and not from photographs. Which gives a special quality to their work.
We hope you can come along and enjoy the work of these Artists who have not been exhibited for many years.
