Printmaking from the River with Kate Marshall 11-13 May 2012

Printmaking from the River with Kate Marshall 11-13 May 2012

Printmaking from Rivers is a 3 day course designed to explore a range of printmaking techniques within a unique environment and be inspired by the near-by river and its gifts. This course is open to beginners or experienced print makers wanting to work alongside others. Techniques covered during the course are Drypoint on plastic, Linocut, Chine Colle, and Collographs.

During this three-day course Kate will talk about finding inspiration and how we can make images from the world around us. In the spirit of Coombe’s courses she will share the skills and techniques she has developed in her own professional work and encourage students to experiment. By the end of the course participants can expect to gain confidence with the mediums and techniques and produce either a small edition of prints, a small series, or learn to bind a few prints together into a simple book. The nearby River Dart and the beautiful environment of Coombe will be a source of inspiration for making experimental works.
