TRAINING: The Pitman Painters

This WEA session will explore the lives & works of the Ashington Group working between the 1930s-1980s & focus on the significant impact which Art made upon this group of miners. The group began as a W.E.A. Evening class of Northumberland pitman keen to learn about Art & within the next few years the Art they produced catalogued life in their mining community. Fully illustrated with discussion.
