The Family Arts Festival 2015 – be a part of it!

All arts organisations working across the visual and performing arts sector, anywhere in the UK, are invited to be part of the Family Arts Festival, a national festival of family arts events, which takes place during October and encompasses the autumn half-term holiday.

Family Arts Festival 2015 will take place 9 October – 1 November.

The festival is a public focal point for the Family Arts Campaign, and includes extensive annual marketing and PR activity promoting arts events to families.

Do you have an activity that would be appealing to a family to participate in together? Or would you like to organise an event that would be suitable for a family audience? Then you can take part in the festival: just register on this website and we will contact you when event upload is open from 13 March onwards.

Although we won’t be partnering with the Big Draw this year, we hope you will still take part in both festivals by registering with them too.

Tell me more…
- The Family Arts Festival has been running since 2013 and has included over 9,000 events by over 1,000 organisations, entertaining tens of thousands of families across the UK. You can read more about previous festivals here.

Am I eligible to take part?
- Any organisation can participate in the Festival – you don’t have to be an arts organisation. As long as the activity has an arts element and is appealing to both adults and children, we’d love for you to take part. And it’s not just about families with younger children – we classify a family event as anything that can appeal to an under 16 and an over 16 attending together. So, your event doesn’t have to be specifically programmed for families: it can be an element of your regular programme that a family would be interested in attending. For more ideas on planning events, take a look at our Top Tips.

The Festival is part of the Family Arts Campaign supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, with the aim to develop the range of arts events and activities available to families - the quality as well as the overall experience
