Arts, Creativity and Cohesion Workshop - 23 October

Arts, Creativity and Cohesion Workshop - 23 October

Kirklees is a designated priority area for targeted work to develop stronger communities and the Council are keen to engage the arts and creative sector in tackling our local challenges.

In the near future the ‘Building a Stronger Britain Together’ funding programme ( https://www.gov.uk/guidance/building-a-stronger-britain-together ) will be opened which provides direct funding and in kind support enabling communities to build projects that build resilience to conflict

There are also other opportunities (Near Neighbours, Safer Communities Fund etc) and the Council want to ensure that the arts and creative sector have an understanding of the ‘wider harms’ of extremism, local national and international challenges, the policy position and to start a dialogue which helps the Cohesion and Integration Team to understand how they can support you, so you can tackle one of the biggest challenges of our time.

The Cohesion and Integration Team are holding a workshop on ‘Arts, Creativity and Cohesion’ on Monday 23 October at 6 pm at Dewsbury Town Hall where they will provide information, advice and guidance on the funding opportunities available and start the conversation.
