Kirklees Pride 2020
LGBT+ pride events will look and feel very different this year due to Covid-19 and social distancing restrictions, but there are plenty of fun online activities for people to get involved with.
Kirklees Council will be hosting and supporting a number of local events to allow people to celebrate Pride at home.

As part of the #KirkleesPride2020 activities people from the LGBT community are being encouraged to think about becoming foster carers.

What is Pride and when did it start?
Pride is celebrated around the world with marches and entertainment during the month of June every year because it coincides with the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots
Did you know in 1981 Pride visited Huddersfield in act of solidarity with the Gemini club? Check out these fantastic pictures of the march and read more at West Yorkshire Queer Stories.
