Plymouth Culture funds summer school places for Plymouth Artists

Plymouth based artists, designers, art & architecture students are invited to apply for ten funded places at the Dartmoor Arts Project Summer School in Drewsteignton, Dartmoor, near Exeter 26 July - 1st August 2015. The places are being supported by Plymouth Culture and are designed to enable emerging artists and those with limited finances to participate in the summer school. A brilliant opportunity for a dedicated week of creative practice alongside other artists and a chance to learn some new skills.

12 courses run throughout the week taught by leading contemporary artists plus an excellent programme of artists talks. Over 120 people join the summer school each year which is artist led and supported by Arts Council England. The atmosphere is fantastic as students work on their projects by day and all come together to eat in the evening followed by an artist talk. It is also a chance to work out in the Dartmoor Landscape and make full use of large indoor and outdoor spaces and equipment.

Recipients of the special bursaries will have their course fees of £495 covered by the funding, their evening meals and entry to the evening talks. They will have to cover the materials supplement themselves ( approx £40-£60) and their accommodation costs.
