ROBOTIC DRAWING MACHINES: 3 DAY COURSE 28-30 JULY

ROBOTIC DRAWING MACHINES: 3 DAY COURSE 28-30 JULY

ROBOTIC DRAWING MACHINES IS PART OF THE DARTMOOR ARTS PROJECT SUMMER SCHOOL 27 JULY- 2 AUGUST 2014 DREWSTEIGNTON, NEAR EXETER.

International Electronic artist Paul Granjon runs a 3 day course on how to make a fully operational small mobile drawing robot.

The workshop includes assembly and programming of a robot based on a kit
designed by Paul. The kit comprises an Arduino microcontroller (thebrain), motors and wheels, plus odd bits of wood, plastic, metal and obsolete consumer electronics. The students are encouraged to customise the robot to their own specifications.

Students do not necessarily need any previous knowledge of electronics or programming, but must be willing to engage with technology, basic DIY, and be confident with computers. They are expected to bring their own laptop and other optional tools.
Total beginners will be able to assemble the kit and start programming. More advanced participants will be given support for building customised drawing tools from recycled parts for the robot, and the possibility of adding sensors that will give the robot added autonomy.

Course costs £250 ( £125 with a bursary) including materials, evening meal & entry to summer school evening lectures. BURSARIES AVAILABLE.
