Workshop: Make your own suffragette sash

Workshop: Make your own suffragette sash

Book a place on the Make your own suffragette sash workshop that will take place on Thursday 10th May 6-8pm at Doncaster Museum & Art Gallery, led by Joanna Nurse and Alison Greer (sewing teacher)

Mark the suffragette centenary by sewing your own sash. The sash will feature the famous ’Votes for Women’ slogan, and the colours of the Women’s Social and Political Union: green, white and purple. Learn about the suffragettes in Doncaster, how the sash became a key part of their campaign, and the significance of its three colours. The workshop is free, and you will be able to keep your sash at the end of the workshop. Tutor Alison Greer of BagLadyBird will guide you through each step and the workshop is suitable for all sewing abilities.

Cost: FREE. Limited spaces available on the workshop so please book via Alison Greer on 01246 807575 or 07976 845662.
