In October 2011 Chris and Caroline Barrow alongside Mood developments acquired the old Oddfellows pub in the picturesque village of Shelley, Huddersfield.

There intention was to create a family friendly, safe and welcoming atmosphere that could deliver that community orientated feel that our village pubs used to have.
Fully refurbished and with a pleasant decked beer garden and children's play area, The Flying Ferret has quickly become the hub of Shelley life with a great community focus. Inside the wood burning fires and sofa areas give the feeling of a real home from home and offer a warm and inviting welcome on the long cold winter evenings. Our full menu served from 6pm weekdays and noon Saturday and Sunday offers good traditional home cooked food at reasonable prices just try our home cooked chips made from real potatoes and you will know the difference home made makes.

The flying Ferret of course prides itself on good food but also on good beer with a full range of lagers, ciders and hand pulled beers from local and national brewers often including Huddersfield own hand pulled ales. Our extensive wine list also offers a great choice of wines at sensible Yorkshire prices.
