Inroads was founded in 2004 by Sara Clifford, a playwright and drama practitioner with over twenty years experience of working in participatory arts and training, in education, health and the criminal justice system

Drawing on a pool of top quality practitioners, the company:

creates innovative and participatory theatre and arts projects
develops theatre in education, health, heritage and development/global learning
trains artists to work in community settings to a professional standard
offers professional development to teachers and other third sector staff

We emphasise creative learning and social change, and have a developing international reputation.

Recent partners include: Creative Partnerships, Sussex and Surrey and Royal Opera House; University of Sussex; East Sussex Record Office; Primary and Secondary Schools in London, Kent, Sussex and Surrey; University of Brighton; Goldsmiths College; East Sussex Arts Partnership; Fishbourne Palace; University Centre Hastings; Watford Palace Theatre; Hastings Borough Council; National Skills Academy; Brighton and Hove Children’s Festival.
