Lindfield Arts Festival announces nationwide film competition!

Organisers of the fourth Lindfield Arts Festival have created an exciting programme on 11th and 12th May 2013 to celebrate the ‘Art of Film’.

For the first time entries are invited for a national filmmaking competition and there will be workshops, talks and film screenings from professionals within the industry, to inspire filmmakers on all levels and present valuable opportunities to learn about many aspects of filmmaking.

Film Director, Mike Hax of Hax Media said, “Our competition theme is to inspire by provoking thought, expression and motivation that could transport viewers to another perspective of reality. This could be portrayed through a famous quotation, an experience, a story, a thought or theory. Our professional panel of judges will be looking for creativity, originality and the ability to inspire. Maximum running time for each film entered is five minutes and the winners of the two categories will receive cash prizes worth £500 and £200.“

“It’s a great opportunity for those interested in film-making to take part in something that could really inspire our community and we are delighted to offer such great prizes” Mike continued.

Sandra Lean, wife of the late Sir David Lean CBE, who directed many epic films including ‘Dr Zhivago’ and won Oscars for ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and ‘The Bridge on the River Kwai’, will be making a guest appearance and providing a talk about this famous English film director and screenwriter. There will also be photographic workshops and film workshops covering Story Telling, Commissioning and Production.

Further details about the film festival can be found on the website www.lindfieldartsfestival.com. The closing date for competition entries is 20th April 2013.
