Nicky Swann at The Blue Walnut Cafe

One of the very best of the new generation of female singer-songwriters, comes to the Blue Walnut Cafe on Saturday 17th September. This powerful, original and versatile singer has achieved critical acclaim with sublime original songs that are rooted in Americana traditions but can just as easily encompass cool summer jazz, rock ‘n’ roil, and folksy ballads. Her first CD received ecstatic reviews in 2010. A great storyteller and a passionate performer, Nicky will be performing with her trio, featuring Katie Marie.

The night will feature songs from her new album due for release in 2012.
A themed album inspired by characters and industries from
Nicky's home town, Newton Abbot and includes songs about the cod fishing
industry, the race course, John Lethbridge (inventor of the first
diving machine back in the 1700's) and the local theatre architect
Frank Matcham, responsible for designing the London Palladium and the
Hippodrome. A must for all music fans.
