Enjoy a relaxed mindful session learning how to create woven art from waste fibres and fabrics.

Take inspiration from the natural world such as plant life and landscapes, or enjoy experimenting with different colours and textures. As you weave you'll learn about warp and weft and how to use woven tapestry techniques to create simple but effective woven art.

Saturday 19 July, 11am - 2.30pm
£40 per person

Looms will be ready for you to use with a selection of materials. You are welcome to bring any fibres of your own you may wish to include in your weaving.

About the tutor: Lucy is a woven tapestry artist who weaves from her studio in Letchworth Garden City.

It is important to Lucy to maintain a sustainable art practice by recycling an upcycling fibres, this has become an integral part of how she works and has a direct effect on the design and size of a piece. Her work is woven using good quality waste fibres, either from a craft stash, a box at the back of the garage, or from yarn suppliers and rug manufacturers.

A member of The British Tapestry Group, the Wynd Gallery and various textiles associations, Lucy regularly exhibits locally and nationally, along with delivering talks, workshops and courses.
