I create artworks using a variety of mediums, with the majority of my influences coming from everyday life- particularly movement, which I am currently focused on capturing in conjunction with moments in stasis and peripheral view. I draw on many streams of influence; inspired by the everyday and things which surround me; viewing the unnoticed parts of life. I am interested in the things that we miss and objects, times and moments that bind us, I constantly look at the old, new and relative normality while focusing on living environments. I am very drawn to the traces people leave behind in rooms; either pinpointing a specific area or placing a focal point into or out of context - centring my attention on the now.
My works are held in both public and private collections in the UK, Denmark and Austria.
I am currently engaged in curating the Collective at the Jerwood Gridshell exhibition at the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum a venture, which I have been leading since last October, throughout my final year of my MFA, in support of 14 artists linked with the visual arts department at West Dean College. They include Alumni, Associate lecturers including George Charman and Rebecca Partridge, artists-in-residence such as Anne Alldread, textile artists and alumni, emerging artists and continuing post-graduate students all taking a view and reacting to the space and impressive artefacts collection offered by the exceptional Jerwood Gridshell space at the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum. Margaret Jones and Jane Fremantle are also co-curating now alongside me.
