&Piano 2020 Culture Cuppa

&Piano 2020 Culture Cuppa

As a warm-up to our 2020 live-stream performances on the 18th and 26th September - and in another first for the festival - we'd like to invite you to join our Culture Cuppa, 7:30-8:30pm on Tuesday 15th September, for a brief chat on the state of the creative art scene in the North.

We've managed to bring together a fantastic group of talented people involved with various musical organisation across Kirklees, Leeds and Manchester, as well as being joined by local Kirklees MP and Labour Shadow Minister for Cultural Industries, Tracy Brabin, to have a short chat and discussion on the state of the Arts in the North pre-lockdown, and how we move forward.
We'll discuss a range of issues from community engagement and participation, funding, representation, relevance, identity, and the challenges and opportunities we face in the months and years ahead.

We anticipate that this will be a very informative and useful discussion for anyone involved in or with an interest in the creative arts particularly in the North - from amateur organisations, to arts professionals.

Chaired by Artistic Director Chris Pulleyn, our panelists are:

Tracy Brabin (MP for Batley & Spen, Shadow Minister for Cultural Industries)

Ellie Slorach (Freelance Conductor, Founder of Kantos Chamber Choir)

Tom Leech (Organist/Conductor, Director of the Diocese of Leeds Schools Singing Programme)

Megan Nelson (Opera North Casting & Scheduling Administrator, Member of Huddersfield Choral Society)

Marc Dunleavy (Freelance Arts Producer & Project Manager, &Piano Trustee)

Join us 7:30-8:30pm, Tuesday 15th September on our Facebook page.
