Historical Fiction day
A day celebrating and examining questions around historical fiction with panels of bestselling authors and the results of the museum's new historical fiction short story competition.
10.15am to 4pm
The outline programme:
Welcome
Historical characters in fiction: Presentation from the authors Emma Darwin, Gabrielle Kimm and R.N.Morris.
Historical landscape and locations in historical fiction: Presentation from the authors Jane Feaver, Maria McCann, Jane Borodale and Michael Arnold.
Tudor clothing discussion between Siobhan Clarke and Lesley Parker during the lunch break.
Writing historical fiction: Alison Weir and Kate Williams
Results of the historical fiction short story competition to be announced by the judges.
There will be time for questions during the day and a chance to buy the author's books from a Waterstones' stand. On the museum site there will be craft displays, including historical inks, wood cut, illustration, calligraphy, printing, book binding and leather work.
