DIY Aluminium Plate Lithography – Printmaker’s Toolkit Session –

Join artist, printmaker and WYPW technician Kate Desforges for a demonstration of lithography on aluminium plates. In recent months Kate has been developing her own method of this widely used technique to use in her own work, and in this session she will demonstrate her work so far. As WYPW do not have a specialist lithography press, and plates for lithography are hard and costly to source, Kate has been experimenting with grinding her own plates using carborundum, and printing on the etching press.

Our 1 hour morning sessions will focus on technique, practise and making, and will comprise of practical demonstrations and talks led by practising artists and printmakers. The sessions are intended to encourage, inspire, and generate ideas and conversation about printmaking, so don’t be afraid to ask questions!
